This is not the best I've had... but really a luxury to me...

CellCell 大戰 Asian Market

Saturday: Hun and I went to a newly open Asian Market to see how's everything are like in there. Turnout, it was pretty nice. I couldn't find a few things i want there, but then I found few things that I couldn't find in the other Asian market... so I dunno... I guess I will have to pick one and I would likely pick the new one. There are Hong Kong style bakery and even a hot-cooked food section with few dim sum items and siu mei. I would love to try them out in the future!

Here are part of what I've got... I tried most of them, some of them are not as good as I had hope for but I think it's okay. I'm happy with all of them considering my limited choices.

Shop Shop Shop

Haven't done any entries for a while. Partially because of school and partially because of my laziness. :P Anyway... in this couple months, I did some shopping for the end of summer + early winter sale. Here is a picture of most of what I got. heheheee~

I really like everything I've got so far, esp. my London Fog rain coat, (it's functional + warm + high quality), my jeans, and my super super cute shoes. I also like these pants (not in the pic) I got to replace my old ones. They are so so comfortable but I only wear them at home. There are still a couple winter items in my mind, but... I better hold back cause I spent a lot already. >_<" Hun and I already got a big gift for ourselves that covered our birthday and Christmas, so we are done with that. As for as wishlist for my relatives goes, I already know what I will wish for... gift cards! gift cards! gift cards! They are the most unthoughtful gift but also my favorite! hehee~ :P

Anyway, thanks my hunhun who make things possible! He probably wanna kick my butt for shopping so much, oh well... poor guy. :P

Short Vacation - [22-24.07.2010] Fort Bragg + Mendocino, CA

Summer class is over, hunhun said it's time to have a relaxing vacation. We picked the easiest location, the coast - Fort Bragg. We've been there quite a few times already so we already know the way. The weather was ok and it was way cooler than Sacramento (60s'F vs. 90s'F). We had some really good food, expensive though... :P

We left home late Thursday. After about 4 hours of driving we arrived the motel at about 7:30pm. We had Japanese food that night. It was very good.

The next day we had a great breakfast. We visited the Guest House right across the street (It's a house built in 1892.) and searched for the Portuguese Hall because we will be in Fort Bragg again for the Portuguese Festas this September. We drove over to Mendocino and checked out there Farmer's Market afterward. It was quite small and since they were mostly selling fresh produces we didn't buy anything. Then we went over to the coast, walked long and enjoyed the great scenery. We had more seafood meal for dinner that night. :P yum!

The last day we took a few pictures of the Skunk Train after breakfast and left. It was time to rescue our lonely baby catcat Oly!

Spare time... finally~ I was very busy in the past 5 weeks. This week will be the last week of my Summer class and I am feeling good because I can finally relax and I know I will have an "A" for the class. I think I did the right thing to work as hard as I could for the class. Though at the same time... I really hope I'm not working too hard for it. I would be really really upset if I know people who didn't put a lot of works into the class can get an "A" too. I should try not to think about that... >_<"

Anyway, my professor is great, we are very lucky to have him. He is something different. Since he will not teach 301/302 for a least 3 years + I might not take that class anyway, I guess I will not be in his class anymore. This class really drained my brain. I learned a lot but at the same time I felt like I could think anymore maybe because I used up all my "quota of thinking" hahaha!

Yummy cookies!

We got some Ricotta Cheese last week but ended up not using it. I decided to find a recipe to use it up because we are going over to Seattle next week. So here I found one, it's an Italian Ricotta Cheese cookies recipe! I tried it today, here are the pictures. The white glaze on top is lime glaze~ They are yummy! hehee~

New Rides...

So finally we gotta say goodbye to our old car (the one given by DadDad). Here is the new ride for Hunhun. This is such a great car! (It's actually a blue grey color called Ocean Blue but you can't tell in the picture) I'm not driving it and I wouldn't dare... =_=""" Hunhun, the driver said he likes it a lot though. I will be smelling the nice "new car smell" on him for a while~ hehehee~


I also need a ride because the bus that I take to school will stop running starting from 20 June =_="" so I have to find another way to go, either take a long bus ride (2 buses, takes 45mins) or walk (1 hour) or a bicycle ride (<15mins).That obviously was a quick decision. I can't tell how would I be able to handle that because I have never ride by the road where cars comes and go before. Though I'm sure it will be ok, because unlike Hong Kong, there are bike lanes with good amount of space here in the US.

We got this used bike last weekend from craigslist It was a pain to put the bike in and out of the trunk but we did it! It's a sturdy 21-speed bike. The ride was pretty smooth~ not BLUE but still Sweet! I dunno why... but I feel like this bike has a name and her name is... Abbey. heheee~ :P

New Craft Project

I haven't update my Blog for a long time because I was sooooooooooooooo busy and worrying the whole time about essay, presentation, more essay, tests, quizzes.... etc.etc. and then the FINAL EXAM is coming... >_<"" but before that I have to make some decisions about the coming up semester... ahhhhhhhhhh

Last week I finally have a little time to spare for relaxation. (Well... I probably should do it because I ended up hurrying my essay a little...) Anyway, it wasn't only for relaxation, I need to make a gift for someone and give it away on or before 15 May. Soooo, here's what I did...




These are called Peruvian Thread Earrings. The tear drop shape ones are the ones I've seen the most. I saw someone wearing them long time ago. I thought of make them but it wasn't until couple weeks ago when I saw time in school that idea of making them pop up again. There were few a few booths selling them. I thought it would be fun, they look interesting and someone would like it. It was a fun process, a lot of work but fun. They are perfect yet, I need more practice I think. MomMom seems to like them too. I showed her last time when I saw her and she kept commenting in them. I will have to make it into something that could decorate her room I think since she can't wear those. She'll have to wait until after my final though.

百年一遇之...

Beautiful Morning

I took this picture one morning (1st March 10) from the bedroom window.
It was so beautiful.

New Glasses! ... almost 4 months ago... :P

I got this new pair of glasses almost 4 months ago (like... 4th April... :P). My old pair is more than 4 years old~ so it's about time. Looking at the picture and you might ask how come one of the lens is darker than the other. It is because these lens are Transitions Lens~ ha~ something new to me. :P HERE is the website.
Basically, the lens would automatically change to the darker shade when you are under the day light and bright sunlight. The reason one len is darker than the other in my picture is because I covered one side up and leave the other side out in the sun for a while before I take this picture. Cool huh? :P It is actually weird to me. I think I have a mixed feeling toward these lens, because it works great most of the time but I can't see very well when I'm directly facing the sun. So basically what I got can't replace an actual pair of sunglasses. I'm looking at their site right now and obviously the company make sunglasses lens which is just darker version of it I guess... mmm... interesting... :P

I took a couple pictures of myself with the old vs new glasses, but I wouldn't post them here... so... ask me if you are interested... (I'm sure only brother Frank will be asking me~ :P wahahhaa!)

It has been a while...
I'm quit busy lately because of school and daddad's situation. We are still not 100% at ease but so much better than couple weeks ago. Hunhun can finally get some good sleep and the home care plan seems to be working okay.

Terry cooked a yummy Irish dinner last weekend and this weekend we are having BBQ pork ribs... yyuuummmmmmmmmmm!!

Today is 2 March already~ My birthday was good~ nothing fantastic and the family emergency part didn't make it better of course but it's ok. I got 4 books, wooden Chinese checker game and 2 jackets. Thanks for all the Facebook message, SMS and cards~ ^_^ Here are mixed of Birthday cards, Lunar New Year cards and Valentine's Day card, all on top of our living room's entertainment center~ THANK YOU ALL! ^_^


Winter Olympic is finalized~ I haven't watch much after the last post. Today I went on NBC to watch the Women's Figure Skating, the Korean Gold Medalist - Kim YuNa is fantastic!! I don't care if she had plastic surgery or not, she still has great skills! She is now holding the World Record! Bravo! Bravo!

Late Valentine's Day Gift

I wasn't able to give the Valentine's Gift to hunhun on time this year because of the family emergency. Finally, I wasn't distracted and able to find some times to do it... here it is~ hehee

I think this is a great gift and the most importantly Terry likes it~ hehee
Maybe I should start selling it... kekekeee

Return to normal... for now

After the busy week, Hun and I are finally back on the normal track again for a while. We still need to deal with the situation but... a break is good. We went to the dentist on Friday... ahh... Hun needed 2 new crown and I will need 1 new crown too... =_=""" Saturday... relax relax and I decided to mow part of the lawn. I ended up mowing 80% of the backyard I think~ :P Hun clean up some more weed at our backyard. We really need to work on our home garden soon for the new planting season... ahh...

I am not a big fan of sports, but the Winter Olympic game is interesting. Figure skating and downhill skiing were the only 2 games that I actually watched and I liked them. Male's figure skating was very cool, bravo to the US team! For downhill skiing, I just couldn't get my eyes off the athletes because it was so fast and scary! >_<

School is still ok... I'm still nervous about school. I went over to see a counselor last week and got my education plan going. I told him about teaching Art and ESL, I think he understand... :P He ended up put me on Art Degree major because he said if I want to teach I wouldn't be getting that kind of degree in ARC anyway. So, my goal will be get as much classes as I could in ARC. I'm thinking of taking "Art - Elementary Drawing and Composition" & hopefully "Swimming" (this is a very difficult class to get in because there's only one class for beginners). In Fall... eeekk I might take 12 units of class, EngWR, Art, Psych and History... ahhh sounds bad... to me >_<"" I'm scared already... damn...

OkOk~ I need to change subject...

My B-Day is coming... very soon... hehee I think I will get one more person's gift (Hun's brother Kris) and that's all~ ahhh~ I've been giving gifts to myself so... that's ok~ :P hahahahaa Thank you Hun, MM&DD, Roxanne, Bro Frank and Kris~ ^_^ Love you all! I'm so blessed!

Busy Week

Something unexpected happened on Wednesday... I think my mind was in shock, not quite tune in for some reason, for a day or two.
We were busy all week and we were so tired mentally, emotionally and physically.

There were a lot of unknown but we are seeing a little light here.
So... hopefully things be settle down and get better even though a lot of things will have to change coming up in the future.

I have to say, DadDad is still the cute old man I've known.
MomMom and DadDad are great people, I love them~

School Update

Another week down... busy... tired...

I'm still not used to get up so early... 7:30 to 7:45am is really not my thing~ >_<" Having to get up so early[in my standard] + in school till 2:50pm doesn't help. oh well I guess only 2 days a week is not that bad. I know~ I know~ That was what we did in secondary school and work so hopefully I will get used to the schedule and feel better in few more weeks. I really hate the bus that delay all the time though, it really cut my time close. I don't want this to affect my grade. I would have take one bus earlier if it wasn't there so damn early at 6:45am.

9:00am
The English writing class teacher wants us to bring a big ass 3" binder to his class, every class... crazy! I guess he thought it's better to do that, so we wouldn't lose our works by the end of the semester since we will have to handle everything to him. The problem is... this is just the beginning of the semester, barely anything is in there now except his required "8 tabs dividers". Even there will be something in there, why would I want to bring all my finished works to the class, if I didn't need it till the end of the semester? It seems like a crazy idea to me. I think we are all adult in the class, if someone couldn't keep track of everything that's their problem. Why do we all have to follow these stupid rules to accommodate people who couldn't do their job?

All I can say is I hope he could teach, or I should say "I hope I could get it." I am a little worry because he likes to talk in a medium to fast speed and he sure likes to tells jokes that I couldn't get half of the time because I have no idea what he's referring to. I guess this is one of the disadvantage of being a foreigner. Lucky that those jokes aren't part of the teaching. I could pretend I understand them and smile. =_="

On the other hand, I like my English reading teacher a lot more~ well except that we have to do vocab. and dictation in her class... =_=""" Oh well at least she speak slower and make everything clear, what we need to do and her class is probably slightly easy overall [hopefully].

11:50pm
Lunch in ARC is alright... the food part is ok, the only problem is the crowd~ Regular day is ok because I could find a place to sit outside somewhere but if it rains... ah... The other day I noticed a microwave which is good one is better than none.

You might think little more than one and a half hour lunch is a lot, but I found that it isn't. I actually think it's just right. I don't have to hurry and could have a little time left to do whatever I want including study little for the next class, homework or relax.

Statistic... teacher is good. I'm still trying to refresh my memory of what I've learned in Hong Kong... but I don't think I remember much so far~ :P I think I'm still catching up. I think I really need to study ahead for this class. Simple random... random... cluster... ughhh~ hopefully I would have more luck in the actual calculation part. I remember I did ok in Hong Kong~ :P

School Day

Today is the 1st day of school in this semester~
The weather was very very very badddddd~ >_<""
Cold, Windy, Rainy~

This semester I will have to get up around 7:45am then catch the 8:35am bus.
zzz... zzz... zzz.....
There are 2 bus stops that I could pick from and I went over to the one that have no cover. The wind and rain were hitting on me, umbrella was no use... lucky that that rain wasn't very heavy.

All of the classes - Eng Reading, Eng Writing and Statistic - seemed ok...
but... I dunno... =_="" I'll see... always feel nervous for new classes...

English Reading... probably not super hard... but...
the professor said she will have regular vocabulary quizzes...
ahhhhhhhhhh!! I know it's a good thinggggg but but but but.... x_x

English Writing... "Top-Down Method", "Guarantee B Method"... I'll see...

Statistic... I've heard that Matt is a great teacher from my Summer Math class, he also has good rating overall in the "ratemyprofessor" website. He seems to be pretty nice and hopefully he is as good as or better than what I've heard about him.

DadDad needed to go to the hospital today. He's pretty upset about the whole thing mostly because he couldn't visit MomMom today. ... mmm... That's very silly but also very understandable. It's really sad to hear but nothing we could do about it, his health is clearly not good and it is more important than seeing MomMom every single day and two times a day.

MomMom's Birthday

I didn't have time to do my blog entry last week because I was busy~
Today is MomMom's Birthday~ last week I decided to crochet or knit her a blanket.
I think I under estimated time would take for that project.
It is a success though, I spent about 6 days on and off but mostly on at night to crank it up.
My hands and shoulders should get a lot of "work out" >_<"" but I think it was worth it cause MM really really liked it! ^^
It's a crochet blanket about 37"X37",
hopefully it could keep her nice and warm for the Winter~ ^^

Thailand Trip 2009

17-24/11 Thailand Trip - a break from the Hong Kong trip

本來好想去o下 Chiangmai 或 Chiangrai o既, 因為未去過.
不過時間太短 [因為我地唔想飛] 所以無計~
舅父佢地話要去o既最好要預兩個 weeks or up.
好開心見到 d crazy relatives. :P
結果我地去o左好多地方. 十有 八, 九都係同廟有關~
食o左好多好o野, 買o左好多抵o野~ hehee

我地今次用o左兩日時間去曼谷西北面o既 Sangkhla Buri,
對上一次返泰國都去過一次~
個邊真係好舒服, 名副其實風景如畫~
d 人生活簡樸, 大家都好似生活得好開心咁.
我地 stay over night o個間房係去到先搵o野, 價錢唔錯 but...
去玩完返到去 wash up 休息o既時候先發現... 無熱水... =_=""
我同 Terry 都有沖涼, 明明泰國人應該係 used to cool shower...
但係我媽咪話佢地居然唔沖~ =_=

Sangkhla Buri 北面係緬甸 border, 所以去程同回程都會有軍隊o既路障~
本來我地有諗住有可能會 cross border 去緬甸睇o下,
不過原來已經 close o左差不多兩年. 聽講係因為兩國之間有問題...

最後一晚係同 my crazy relatives 食飯, 就咁完結o左個 trip.人
o個間o野叫做 the Royal Dragon. d o野食就 OK~
之後先知原來間o野都幾出名.
佢地出名在因為間餐廳好大, 所以 d 侍應要用 roller 送菜.
個場中間有個表現台, 我所見o既有中國舞, 泰國舞~
食食o下中有個人攞住個著住火o既 hotpot "飛" 過! 哈哈~

Spaghetti w/ tomato sauce + Garlic & Cheese toasted baguette and made some yummy German short breads for dessert~ hehehee


We had Alfredo and toasted baguette the night after, it was good too~ :P

呢日到同秘書班 d friends 食飯~
我o地係去食o係西九附近o既"德發小廚"~ [我居然無影到個門口~ =_="]

我一早去o左西九行, 等時間到~ 順便 shopping o下, 睇o下有無o野o岩~
結果都叫做有收穫, 我買o左幾個髮夾同睇中o左一個袋~
心水髮夾真係好難搵~ 我已經參唔多行哂旺角大小鋪 [*誇*] 都唔見有合心o既,
至於袋, 我一向都 picky, 加上 US 見到o既袋我唔係太鍾意~
所以... 一見有心移o既袋... 雖然我當時無買, 但係... 個心就已經... kekekeee~

到o左差唔多時間, 我就快落到商場地下之際忽然見到 Joyce & Cindy 行過~
我就趕緊落去"撞" 佢地. 係真係"撞"o個隻撞~
Joyce & Cindy 一面無耐加 90% 忿怒地轉身想打我之際先見到係我~ 呵呵呵~

當晚係 Zoe 小姐包辦搵食 & book 枱o既, 果然係無令人失望~ 好味~
食o左好多我好耐無食[o個邊無得食]o既o野~ eg. 炒蜆, 蒸魚, 豬紅, etc. etc.~
雖然唔係 100% 齊人, 但係重要人物都有出現都算係咁喇~ HEHEE
食完主菜 & 甜品仲有蛋糕食, 因為是日我地順便慶祝埋 Cindy 生日~ ^_^
o個堆 candles 點起o既紅紅聖火真係... 好o野!

好耐好耐無見, 有好幾個朋友係自從中五畢業後已經無見,
發覺大家個樣都係差唔多無乜點變~
不過最大o既感覺係, 人到o左某個年紀有 d news 會特別多.
我地呢 d 廿X o既最多聽到o既朋友消息就係結婚~
席中 5 個人我係已婚, 另外兩個就好事近而其中一個就 plan 緊~
由於我唔小心 plan o左兩班 friend 一齊同一日見, 所以我唯有好唔好意思地要早走.
大家見到食得差唔多所以都決定一齊走 lu~

原來係佢地第一次咁行~ 哈哈~
行到去花園街頭見到某間賣零食o既鋪頭. 我就... 忍唔住掃貨~
結果... 買o左 200 蚊糖... :P

07/11 Arrival!

到o左 HK 之後用我唯一一個1蚊 or 2蚊 call 我細佬問佢係咪o黎接我, 佢話o黎緊.
我叫佢去 M 記等, 但係之後先發現原來機場已經無o左 M 記... =_=
then 我即刻用 iPod touch 上網, 見 Carmen o係 MSN online 就即刻搵佢救急幫我 call 我細佬. Thank you, Carmen!
結果見返佢, 第一個感覺係... "嘩~ 個樣好似唔同o左咁o既~"
之後我同細佬搭巴士, 返到去放好o野後就落樓下食飯~ 再返返屋頂... 上網上網上網~ :P
